10 Fun Facts You May Not Have Known About Me

I love getting to know people beyond the surface, so I thought it’d be fun to share some little-known facts about myself! Some of these might surprise you, and some might make you laugh—but either way, I hope this gives you a peek into who I am beyond my everyday roles.

Yep, it might sound a little quirky, but here’s why—years ago, I kept noticing tiny holes appearing in my shirts. I could not for the life of me figure out why all of my shirts would eventual get holes! Turns out, I’m not alone! After a quick Google search I discovered the buttons on my jeans were rubbing against the fabric when I leaned against counters or hard surfaces. My solution? Button protectors! Problem solved.

Before I became Susan Larimer, I was Susan Peters!

Because of that, my name came out as “Susan Pitas” instead of “Susan Peters.” I think it’s pretty fitting that I ended up studying speech-language pathology!

In 1995 I was the 9th fastest 400M dash runner in the state of Pennsylvania. My best time was 59.5s. (for those of you who don’t know, 400m is once around the track or 1/4 mile).

It was such a life-changing experience. We learned so much about faith, culture, and what it means to truly serve others. BONUS – Emma was born there! I was 3 months pregnant when we left for Mexico, and because Emma was born there (and after a lot of paperwork!), Emma has dual citizenship!

I can’t handle nail polish, stick-on nails, or anything on my nails. The second I see any white at the tips, I have to clip them. YUCK! Just thinking about nails bothers me!

I earned my bachelor’s in speech-language pathology and audiology from Bloomsburg U. and went on to get my master’s in speech-language pathology from East Stroudsburg U. (Makes that “Susan Pitas” story even funnier, right?)

I completed the Atlantic City Marathon in 1997. It was a huge accomplishment, but let’s just say I checked that off the bucket list and didn’t look back.

So, you won’t find me on a roller coaster or in a tiny elevator anytime soon! And as much as I love them, Lighthouses are a challenge too!

Now, it’s your turn! Drop three fun facts about yourself in the comments—I’d love to learn something new about you!
