My Perimenopause Journey + A Week That Changed Everything
Continuing on my perimenopause (aka “what in the world is happening to my body?!”) journey, I want to share something that’s been really working for me.
Last month, my friend Paige Swenson invited me to join a one-week challenge using the FasterWay program. Before I get into what the program is all about, I want you to hear a little about Paige—because if you’re going to take health and fitness advice from someone, it should definitely be her.
Meet Paige Swenson
Ironman Finisher ×13 and Still the Most Down-to-Earth Friend
Paige’s Facebook “About Me” section says, “Just an ordinary girl who aspires to do great things,” but let me tell you—Paige is anything but ordinary.
She is a 13-time Ironman finisher. If you’re wondering what that means, here’s a quick breakdown of what goes into just ONE Ironman race:
- 🏊 Swim: 2.4 miles (3.9 km)
- 🚴♀️ Bike: 112 miles (180.2 km)
- 🏃♀️ Run: 26.2 miles (42.2 km – a full marathon)

And yes, all of that happens in one day—back to back!
I ran one marathon in my life and needed a full month to recover. Paige? She’s out there doing this kind of thing on the regular.
But beyond the medals and milestones, Paige is a true encourager. She inspires me daily with her discipline and perseverance. When I don’t feel like going to the gym, I think of Paige—and I lace up my sneakers and get it done.
The FasterWay: What It Is (and What It’s Not)

What I Noticed in Just One Week
Real Results (That Go Beyond the Scale)
Here’s what changed for me in just seven days:
- ✅ Down 3 pounds (down a total of 5 pounds now a month later!)
- ✅ Clothes fit more comfortably
- ✅ Muscle tone is coming back
- ✅ I have more energy
- ✅ I’m sleeping like a baby again!
But honestly? The biggest win is that I understand my changing body a little better now. And that confidence has helped me keep going.
